Want to learn to protect your family?
Do you want to improve your fitness?
Learn Krav Maga
Krav Maga is the official self defence system of the Israeli Defence Forces. It was designed to be easy to learn and to be extremely effective in real world situations. The techniques are based on instinctive reactions, and therefore easy to remember and effective even under stress. Rather than teaching hundreds of different techniques, Krav Maga uses the same techniques and principles to deal with widely varying threats, which means there is much less to remember and the system can be learned much faster.
Everybody can do Krav Maga
Classes are open to everybody and the techniques will work regardless of your gender, age, strength or fitness. Classes range from absolute beginners to advanced levels. You don't need to be fit to do the classes though you will find that your fitness levels will improve!
Although you have the option to try for official Krav Maga Worldwide gradings to monitor your progress, that is completely optional. Krav Maga is not a martial art, and we do not wear belts or organize competitions: the goal of Krav Maga is simply to teach you how to defend yourself if you need to and how to get away safely from dangerous situations.
Who teaches the classes?
Self Defence Dublin is run by Edsko de Vries and Soraya Lavery. The classes are taught by (from left to right in the picture): Michal Borek, Peter Lewental, Elaine Bannon, Soraya Lavery, Eoin Campbell and Edsko de Vries. All our instructors have been trained by Krav Maga Worldwide and are fully qualified Krav Maga Worldwide civilian self defence instructors. In addition, Soraya and Edsko are also qualified Law Enforcement instructors. We take pride in our emphasis on personal attention; we think it is important each student gets individual feedback to make sure everybody gets the most out of the classes.
